What happened in Call the Midwife season 10?

The last season was centred around Sister Julienne’s attempts to save the financial future of Nonnatus House.

We also saw Lucille and Cyril’s relationship bloom during the Boxing Day special as the couple tied the knot.

Trixie found out Matthew (her potential love interest) was one of the bosses at a company in charge of the run-down Lisbon flats.

This season also explored the changing social and legal attitudes in the run-up to some important legislation such as the legalisation of abortion and homosexuality.

What is the plot of Call the Midwife season 11?

The new season continues the show’s journey through the years at Nonnatus House in the East End of London.

Speaking recently to press, Stephen McGann, who plays Dr Turner shared: ‘Well, we’re not gonna tell you any details, except to say that it’s big, it’s brilliant and it is a real challenge.

‘I think for people who watch the show, I think it’s a departure, it’s different, i’s ambitious,’ teased the star.

Heidi Thomas also shared with RadioTimes.com: “What I do know is that when we get to series 11 it will be 1967, so abortion will be legalised and homosexuality will be legalised, and these are big staging posts in modern social history, so I know we’ll be referencing those and we might be referencing the journey towards those things.”
