Actress shares update following painful leg injury

Call The Midwife star Helen George has shared a rare health update after a leg injury left her unable to walk. The 39-year-old actress, known for her role as Trixie Franklin in the BBC period drama, suffered a tragic accident in July that resulted in a cast and the need for a mobility scooter.

Ready to return to the stage

Despite the setback, George has revealed on a BBC Radio Two breakfast show that she has healed in time for rehearsals of her upcoming role as Anna Leonowens in the musical 'The King and I'. She joked about being unable to perform initially, saying, "Because there’s a whole dance which is like, ‘Shall we dance?’, and I’m like ‘No, no, I literally can’t!'"

Difficult summer for the star

In addition to her leg injury, George also faced the end of a seven-year relationship with her co-star Jack Ashton. She shared the news, saying, "Some months ago, we separated. Our two beautiful girls remain the focus, and I respectfully ask for privacy for this next chapter."
