CAROL Vorderman had a bright and early start at the ITV studios today as she told fans she was make-up free.
The 61-year-old TV star posed for a mirror selfie in her dressing room when she arrived for work on Lorraine.
Carol Vorderman showed fans her pre-glam look before hosting ITV’s Lorraine today
Carol glammed up for Lorraine yesterday in a green leather pencil skirt and vibrant top
Carol, who is hosting in Lorraine Kelly‘s absence, stunned in the snap, wearing gym leggings and a tight top, before having her makeover to become TV ready.
She told fans on Instagram: “Morning early campers. 5.30am…. ready for this amazing day to kick off.
“Join me on @lorraine at 9am for a cracking show… don’ worry make up will have been applied by then. Don’t want me to frighten the children!”
She ended her cheery message with a battle cry ahead of taking over from Lorraine on the breakfast show, writing “boom shaka laka!”
Yesterday Carol popped in to chat to Loose Women after hosting Lorraine and told the panel about her dating life.
Brenda Edwards wanted to hear more about the Countdown star’s philosophy of keeping “special friends” in her life instead of having a boyfriend or husband.
Carol replied: “When you’re growing up as a young girl, you’re told you should have one partner and that suits a lot of people.
“But we all have women and girlfriends who are getting older going, ‘I wouldn’t mind if (my partner and I) lived in separate houses.’
“I do feel free.”
Carol also spoke about where her confidence comes from and admitted her tough upbringing, living in and out of poverty with a single mother, made her care less about what people think.
She said: “Having a single parent in the sixities. My mum remarried my wonderful stepfather, and she kept leaving him, so we were there one night in a lovely house, then we were in the circus, it was an anxious way to live.
“I think what it gave me is, ‘I can survive’.
“I saw my mum go through quite a lot, not by my stepfather by the way, but others putting her down, because she was a single parent.
“So now it’s a little bit of, ‘If I bother you I don’t care’.”
The 61-year-old Countdown star looked fabulous on the ITV daytime show dressed in a leopard print top and with her hair framing her face.
The TV presenter has been single since she split from journalist Des Kelly in 2007, but despite having plenty of male fans and attention, Carol insists she is happy on her own.
