Lydia wasn’t on the show for long after a failed romance with Tom
But things didn’t exactly go to plan for the Scottish Casa Amor girl, as she was dumped by Tom despite their connection.
Instead, he chose to remain with Samie and sent Lydia packing.
She’s since posted a highlights video on her social media from her time in the villa, captioned: “When you quit your job to travel to South Africa for a dating show.”
Lydia quit her job only to go on the show for a very short amount of time, as she entered as a Casa bombshell on Monday February 13, and made a brief return on February 17 to chat to the girls.
She added: “It may have been short lived but it’s an experience I’ll never forget.”
Before heading to the villa, Lydia said: “I’m looking for someone to bounce off and someone who is able to support and care for me.
“Humour is a big thing too, so I’m looking for someone who’s not too serious and can have a laugh.”
She initially had her eye on Casey before meeting the boys, but once in the villa it was Tom who caught her attention.
It comes after Lydia appeared alongside her Casa Amor co-star Layla Al-Momani in a new video.
Layla entered the ITV2 show in Casa Amor and snogged Will Young, but he refused to couple up with her.
Layla, 28, spoke about the mental health impact of going into Love Island and dealing with trolling on the outside.
She told On Demand Entertainment: “I have been struggling.
“I feel like I’m quite a strong person generally but I have been struggling. Yesterday, we were filming Aftersun and I was crying before that. My eyes were red.
“There was so much you didn’t see, I mean Shaq, he is really flirty. I really liked Shaq.”
The pair hit it off but he decided not to couple up with her
