CASA Amor boy Kodie Murphy’s family have furiously defended him after he was slammed for making “homophobic” comments and dumping his girlfriend for Love Island.
The social media marketer entered Casa Amor as a male bombshell and made waves outside of the show.
Kodie Murphy has been defended by his family after allegations of homophobia
A former schoolmate of Kodie’s accused him of being a “homophobe” while an ex-girlfriend claimed he had dropped her to sign up to the hit ITV2 dating show.
Kodie’s family have now come to his defence, with his sister rowing with fans on TikTok over the way he had been portrayed by people who know him.
When asked if it was true Kodie, 20, was dating before the show, his sister said: “No it’s not.
“I can assure you my brother is one of the good ones. Some girls are so desperate for attention.”
Kodie’s ex said she had been dumped by him and told he was going on a work trip.
She wrote on social media: “As some of you may know Kodie Murphy and I have been exclusive for some time and now I’ve come to find out this ‘work trip’ he was going on was actually Casa Amor.
“Couldn’t feel more hurt and disrespected, Kodie you had plenty of time to tell me, however I hope you find what you’re looking for.”
She finished her statement with a sarcastic: “I wish you luck.”
However Kodie’s sister fought back and when asked how long he had been single for she replied: “A while.
“He’s just been living his best life. He is young and he’s got his whole life ahead of him.”
His sister went on to lash out about allegations he was “homophobic” adding: “I can assure you he is far from homophobic.”
She also accused fans of Love Island of “jumping on the bandwagon” and implored them to give Kodie a chance.
Kodie’s niece also spoke out in his defence and told the people commenting on TikTok: “We all know it’s not true and so why should we let negative people bring us down with lies when we know the truth.”
She added: “My uncle Kodie, he’s a very loyal boy.
“Stop with all your hate comments.”
When asked about his alleged “homophobic” language she added: “It’s all lies.”
Kodie, who comes from Birmingham, came under fire from a man he went to school with on Twitter after it was revealed he was one of the male bombshells entering Casa Amor.
Sharing a video of Kodie’s Love Island reveal on social media, the man said: “What a way to end pride month, a boy who I went secondary school with who bullied me for being gay is put on Love Island.”
