The hospital is rocked by a horror smash caused by Donna falling asleep at the wheel

After being asked to work on her day off in last week’s episode, she fell asleep at the wheel on her way home.

Her actions caused a car crash when a driver had to swerve out of the way to avoid her – but when she realises the catatonic mum in the passenger seat is drunk, she tries to shift the blame.

Cops arrive at the scene when Donna calls an ambulance to treat the injured parties, Kerry and her son Ash.

And Donna finds herself in hot water as her version of events doesn’t match up with theirs.

Once they all arrive in hospital, Dylan and Rash spot that Kerry is drunk, making her look even more guilty.

The police warn learner driver Ash that his mum will be held legally responsible for being in charge of the car because he only had a provisional license.

He begs Donna to tell the cops she caused the crash, but she refuses.

The boy is eventually arrested as Kerry is rushed into the operating room and her future hangs in the balance.

Donna starts feeling guilty for her lies as she hangs around the hospital waiting to see the result of Kerry’s operation.

Her colleague Stevie confronts her about the driver’s different version of events

Stevie takes her aside to say that Ash is telling the police she is responsible for the horrible accident, and she gets nervous that her co-worker might believe him.

Just when she is considering owning up to her kip at the wheel her kids wind up in the ED with an injury.

Seeing Amber and Mia makes Donna have second thoughts about coming forward.

Elsewhere in the ward, Rida decides to change a faulty lightbulb in the prayer room.

Charlie offers to help out, and she heads to the sacred space with him and the maintenance man.

But when they burst in, they disturb Rash from his prayers, leaving Rida mortified.

She tries to make it up to him by offering support when he is struggling with Ashok’s dementia.

Sah finally comes clean to Teddy about their illicit kiss with Paige.

Teddy is left devastated by the news, and Sah will have to face the consequences.

Meanwhile Jan is having a difficult shift, which makes her consider retiring early.
