Casualty trailer teases huge lorry crash and tragic suicide plot as season 36 kicks off this week

FANS of the BBC hospital drama Casualty have been treated with a shocking new trailer welcoming in the show’s 36th season.

The trailer for the 35th-anniversary special episode depicts a tragic suicide as well as a horrific lorry crash set to start off the new season with a bang.

The 36th season begins on Saturday at 8.45pm on BBC One- and the trailer is already gripping fans ahead of the season premiere.

Casualty follows on from the tragic death of Fenisha during her wedding to Ethan, with a special flashback episode that will transport the latter back 5 years to confront the ghosts of his past.

Flashback scenes from 2016 will see the epic return of former health care assistant Big Mac, reception Manager Noel Garcia and former registrar Caleb Knight.

As the clip, posted to BBC Casualty’s official Twitter account, fades in, Ethan can be heard in a voiceover admitting “I thought I was coping.”

“I thought I was making the right decisions. I wasn’t. Love’s a funny thing. Sometimes you need to see things from a different angle to understand.”.



Jacob finds himself submerged in deep water

The trailer depicts a horrific lorry crash, Ethan seemingly hitting rock bottom after the loss of Fenisa and a hospitalised Jacob, reaching his limits after Lisa’s abuse and coercive control.

The final scenes display a tormented Jacob walking into the sea, leaving viewers wondering whether he will succumb to the harsh waves and down.

We also see a lorry crash into a van, another potential crash and turbulent times ahead for Jan which could ruin the best thing she has got.

One fan wrote “This looks incredible. I’m looking forward to Ethan’s flashbacks with Cal. He was such a great character.”,



Could this be the end of Jacob?
