VIEWERS of Channel 4’s Celebrity Hunted have hit out at Channel 4 bosses as they raged that the show was a ‘complete set-up’ during its latest episode.
The reality programme, in aid of Stand Up to Cancer, features pairs of famous faces on the run over a 14 day period but fans have been left unconvinced that all the action on the show is real.
Ed Gamble and James Acaster made it to The Speakmans home
But fans hit out at the show as they branded it staged
Many claimed the show had become too ‘predictable’
Fans were quick to brand the latest episode as “staged” after one scene saw two separate pairs appear to help each other out without having had contact.
This Morning regulars Nik and Eva Speakman appeared to let comedians James Acaster and Ed Gamble use their Rochdale mansion as a place to stay in order to escape the watchful eye of the hunters.
The comedy boys were helped into Nik and Eva’s impressive home by the pair’s kids, Olivia and Hunter, who were keen to help the stars just as much as their parents.
The plan quickly fell flat as they correctly assumed that the hunters would be on to them after having previously got a hold of the Speakman’s CCTV camera footage having obtained their mobile phones.
This then forced the duo to move on without getting a chance to stay overnight with Olivia left with no choice to race them off the premises and drop them off at a nearby pub.
Olivia had previously acted as a getaway driver for her mum and dad when they returned to their home in the previous episode.
However, despite claiming that Nik and Eva had given them permission to use their home when they met in the show’s fictional prison – Nik and Eva failed to mention this and the address to their home never appeared to be shared with James and Ed on-screen.
The episode left viewers crying out that the show was ‘set-up’ as they begged Channel 4 bosses to be less predicatbale.
Writing online, one furious fan said: “This is becoming predictable, staged and thoroughly stupid now.
“We’re not idiots, so if you’re viewing figures/donations are down it’s your own fault. Bye.”
Another added: “#celebrityhunted is even more scripted than the fake, regular Hunted.”
A third wrote: “It’s like they’re not even trying to hide the fact #celebrityhunted is a complete set up.”
As a fourth declared: “This is so staged, it would be p*** easy to hide from these hunters without being caught for a few days, the UK is a big place ffs.”
Fans were not happy with the show
Celebrity Hunted airs Tuesday at 9pm on Channel 4.
