CELEBRITY MasterChef fans have been left scratching their heads after Jamelia made an odd request during the quarter-finals.
The 42-year-old singer had cooked the guest judging panel ‘Louisiana shrimp boil’, with prawns, scollops, crab, corn and potatoes.

She told the stars to put on gloves so they could eat her meal with their hands
She topped her main course with ‘cajan spiced butter’ before delivering it to Andi Peters, Vicky Pattison and Rylan Clark to try.
But as she handed the plates over, Jamelia pointed out the three pairs of blue surgical gloves resting on the panel’s table.
She told the guest stars: “The reason you’ve got your little gloves beside you is because traditionally they eat it with their hands.”
Rylan then pinged a latex glove on one of his hands as Jamelia added: “I just hope that you enjoy the flavours.”
Jamelia left the room, leaving the trio to tuck in.
But before he started on his, Rylan turned to Vicky and suggestively told her: “I’ve worn these before.”
He then clarified: “It’s nothing exciting, it’s just when I colour my beard!”
Celebrity MasterChef fans were left baffled by the scenes and some took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to discuss it.
One wrote: “Kentucky fried chicken with latex gloves for me, next time.”
Another added: “Who wears rubber gloves to eat their dinner with their hands?”
A third posted a ‘vomiting’ emoji to remark on Rylan’s quip, saying: “Rylan is used to wearing those gloves!”
Despite having to wear blue surgical gloves to enjoy their meal, Jamelia’s dish seriously impressed the guest judges.
Vicky, who was a Celebrity MasterChef finalist in 2019, said: “I think she’s made this a million times before.
“There’s something about the flavours, like how perfect she’s got them and how well they compliment each other.”
2008 finalist Andi added: “Everything in this boil is cooked perfectly.
“The potato is soft, the corn on the cob is sweet, the prawns are just perfectly cooked. I think it’s a really lovely dish.”
Rylan was equally impressed.
The star, who made it to the final in 2015, said: “Well the girl can sing and the girl can cook.”
Jamelia also received praise from MasterChef judges John Torrode and Gregg Wallace for both her ‘Louisiana shrimp boil’ and her dessert – a cherry and chocolate cake with cherry cream and cherry liquor syrup.
As a result, the noughties pop star sailed through to the semi-finals.
She will be competing against Go Compare star Wynne Evans, after DJ Leon ‘Locksmith’ Rolle was sent home.
The pair will also battle it out against Marcus Brigstocke, Mica Ven, Max George and Shazia Mirza for a place in the final.
