CELEBRITY Masterchef fans were left horrified after a contestant served ‘cat sick’ to judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

The BBC cookery show returned with a whole host of famous faces competing in the Masterchef kitchen.

The first episode saw comedian Marcus Brigstocke, The Inbetweeners actor James Buckley, Radio 2 star Richie Anderson, Love Island winner Dani Dyer and Gogglebox favourite Mica Ven take on two challenges.

Judges John and Gregg tasked the five celebs with cooking a mystery ingredient after they each picked a cloche.

Richie’s revealed an aubergine, and he admitted he had never cooked one before.

The 35-year-old decided to make a vegetable curry and added sweet potato, carrot and spring onions into a pan with the aubergine.

However, the judges feared the sweet potato and carrot would not cook as quickly as the other components.

As the time started to run out, Richie panicked about the texture of his sauce, and when it came to serving it up, viewers were not impressed by what they saw.

Taking to X – formerly Twitter – one wrote: “Curry looks like cat sick.”

Another added: “The only thing Richie has made ….is everyone feel ill.”

A third agreed, writing: “Richie is obviously making a pan of vomit.”

Meanwhile a fourth tweeted: “Christ almighty, what has he done to that aubergine.”

Richie improved things with his second round dish, jerk chicken, but Gregg revealed some of his meat wasn’t quite cooked properly.

In the end, the judges decided he was the first celebrity who should be sent home.
