TONIGHT’S episode of Celebs Go Dating kicked off with a very awkward moment.
First to head into the Celebrity Dating Agency was 90s boyband member, Abz Love, and he was reunited with Anna Williamson.
As dating agent Anna welcomed the singer into the agency, she told him: “Nice to see you again!”, to which Abz responded: “Again? Remind me..?”
Fellow love expert Paul C Bronson was left looking awkward as he had no clue of Abz and Anna’s history.
As Abz covered his face with his jacket, fans couldn’t help but laugh at the situation.
Taking to Twitter, viewers discussed what could’ve been going through the 5ive singer’s head.
One wrote: “Abz genuinely thought he’d given Anna a bit of love.
“Not a chance fella. #CelebsGoDating“
Another chimed in: “Anna knew Abz, who knew.”
Despite the awkward first interaction, Anna – who is by now happily married with two kids – laughed and said: “Let’s take this back to 1997”, as poor Abz still looked puzzled.
Paul egged on the situation, joking: “Oh my god Abz what did you do to Anna?”
Anna explained: “I was in a 90s girl band, and we probably had the best gig of our lives – the support act to 5ive.”
The dating agent then brought out a framed snap, taken back in the 90s, which showed both her and Abz posing for a picture backstage at said gig.
Anna was in a band called Blush in the 90s, and Abz then stated it “rings a bell”.
Hilariously, she caught on to Abz’s worry that he might’ve forgotten about a hook-up, saying: “I would like to clarify, we never got it on”.
