PIERS Morgan might have quit Good Morning Britain more than three weeks ago – but his name popped up on Catchphrase last night as if he’d never left.
The 56-year-old’s former co-star Charlotte Hawkins was quizzed about him in a pre-recorded celebrity special that aired on ITV last night.
TV bosses chose not to edit the programme – meaning the stars were talking about Piers on the show as if nothing had happened.
The host dramatically quit GMB last month rather than apologise for saying he didn’t believe Meghan Markle’s claims in a recent bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.
But last night Catchphrase presenter Stephen Mulhern asked Charlotte, 45: “How do you cope with Piers Morgan?”
She replied: “That’s a much tougher challenge, Stephen. I should have earplugs or something.”
Stephen, 44, told her: “He does talk a lot.”
She replied: “He talks a heck of a lot, you’re right.”
Former BGT spin-off host Stephen added: “He used to be a judge on Britain’s Got Talent so I know first hand – it’s too much, too much.”
Some viewers reckoned the timing of the remarks was awkward given his recent departure from the show.
One tweeted: “Tacky showing #catchphrase with Charlotte Hawkins talking about @piersmorgan on #GMB after what happened.”
Piers is set to lift the lid on his sudden departure from GMB and Meghan Markle’s involvement in it in a tell-all interview on US telly tomorrow afternoon.
A source told The Celeb Report: “Piers won’t be pulling any punches. He is still very disappointed about the way things finished at GMB.
“He remains 100 percent convinced he was right about what he said with regards to the Meghan and Harry interview.”
