But Chloe, 35, has now admitted that she was forced to go back to work nearly straight away.
The personal trainer opted to only take a short eight-week break after her first daughter arrived, as she needed the money.
In a new interview, she explained she and her husband are mostly financially independant from one another.
She told The Mirror: “James obviously makes a great income and he’s my partner and that’s fantastic, but we don’t have a joint account.”
“We’ve always had separate accounts and I think that’s a bit of a pride thing with me.
“Next time, if I get pregnant again, I’m absolutely not doing it. I will swallow my pride, I will jump in on James’ account and take at least six months.”
Chloe is the daughter of long-time presenting do Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan and she first rose to prominence presenting on TV like her parents.
She started dating the former I’m A Celebrity campmate in 2014 before they got engaged three years later.
The pair married in 2018, and after the media personality fell pregnant, she worked all the way untill she was 39 weeks pregnant as she is self-employed.
But on reflection, although she feels lucky that she hasn’t felt serious repercussions, she knows pregnant women should take their rime after giving birth.
She admitted: “With the lack of sleep and the amount of people who are relying on you… that has been a lesson!
“I’m lucky I haven’t had any mental health issues, but during this time when you’re very susceptible to it, take your time.
“If you’re self-employed it’s tough, but really take your time going back to work – that was a hard lesson for me.”
The media personality also explained that although she loves her 7 month-old daughter, at first she thought she could have made the wrong decision because she loved her previous lifestyle.
Chloe said: “I have a very successful career, I love travelling, I’m a bit of a party girl and I have quite a fun lifestyle in London and I was like, ‘Having kids looks a bit s**t – expensive, time-consuming, boring and you have to sacrifice a lot.
“I finally decided I really wanted to have kids and got pregnant and then, in my third trimester I slightly regressed and panicked that I might have made the wrong decision.”
