Relief and Praise
CHRISTINE McGuinness expressed her relief after being eliminated from Celebrity MasterChef, where she bravely addressed her struggles with autism.
The model and television personality, 36, competed against Jake Quickenden, Jamie MacDonald, Emma Thynn, and Tamer Hassan in the latest heat.
Opening Up About Autism
Christine, who was diagnosed with autism in recent years, opened up about her sensory issues with food during the episode.
She shared, "I do have a lot of sensory issues around food, the smells, the textures, not just cooking, but tasting, it is something I avoid an awful lot."
Viewers' Support
Viewers praised Christine for her courage in discussing her autism diagnosis on the show, with many commending her for stepping out of her comfort zone.
One viewer wrote, "As an autistic person myself, Christine did extremely well on #celebritymasterchef outside her comfort zone."
Culinary Challenge
Despite facing challenges, Christine presented dishes inspired by her children's favorite meals and her mother's recipes. She made enhanced chicken nuggets and chips with a dipping sauce, along with a child-friendly alcohol-free tiramisu for dessert.
Farewell and Reflection
Although Christine was not sent through to the next round by judges John and Gregg, she expressed pride in herself for stepping into an unfamiliar kitchen and trying new dishes.
Christine said, "I'm really, really proud of myself that I even went into a kitchen I wasn't familiar with, that I tried to make food I'd never made before."
The model concluded, "I'm happy I've done it, but I'm relieved I don't have to keep practicing in front of the nation."
Celebrity MasterChef airs on BBC One.
