TV Star Helen Skelton's Innocent Christmas Prank Goes Wrong
Christmas on the Farm presenter Helen Skelton found herself cringing after a prank she played on her children took an unexpected turn.
The popular TV star, who is currently co-hosting the Channel 5 Christmas show with Jules Hudson, got into the festive spirit by pulling a prank on her kids.
Helen joined parents around the world in preparing for Santa's arrival through the chimney by participating in the 'Elf on the Shelf' Christmas tradition.
The tradition, which originated from a 2005 book by Carol Aebersold and Chanda Bell, involves parents placing an elf doll around the house to make children believe Santa's elves are watching their behavior.
In an Instagram story, Helen shared a picture of her dishwasher with a Peppa Pig plush toy taped to it, along with an elf on the countertop.
However, the prank didn't go as planned. Helen captioned the post, "Did not end well. Traumatised."
Helen Skelton, who shares three children with her ex Richie, is known for her light-hearted and fun-loving nature. Earlier this year, she jokingly claimed to be "ruining her kids' lives" by tying their laces in a certain way.
On a recent episode of Christmas on the Farm, viewers were treated to a surprise cameo by Emmerdale's Lisa Riley playing Santa.
The Christmas on the Farm show is available for streaming on My5.
