Cobra Kai star Mary Mouser believes tells fan season three is deeper and darker

She was very pleased to hear from showrunners Josh Heald and Jon Hurwitz what direction her character was heading in.

Mouser shared: “We all kind of looked at each other [and said], ‘Alright, what next? Where do you go from here?'”

“I remember the guys being like, ‘It’s not over… we blew it up, and we have to put it back together and we’re going to see how that goes.'”

“It was really important to me though that that was as honest as can be. I think it was great that all of season 3 kind of went into the heart and emotion side, in addition to keeping the fun and the lightness and the badass-ery.”

The former Body of Proof star opened up on Cobra Kai examining important issues and thinks they resonate well with young viewers.

She explained to Screenrant: “I definitely think so. I hope so. I think, you know, this up and coming generation specifically is woke and knows a lot more about the world than I think I did at that moment in my life.

“And that’s exciting and it makes me want to challenge myself to learn and try harder.”

The actress also stressed that’s pivotal that people learn to be responsible for their actions and hopes it’s an idea fans are taking from the show.

“I think it’s, you know, important also that the show takes on the idea that just because you’ve been bullied, it doesn’t mean you can’t become the bully just because you’ve come from a tough situation.

“You can just as easily become the bad guy as you can become the good guy and we still have to be responsible for our actions no matter where we come from.”

Mouser added that she was pleased to do something more serious and “show Samantha healing in all of the ugly ways that you heal from something that traumatic.”

She concluded: “I’m excited to see how people respond to it.”
