Cold Feet’s Fay Ripley makes shock confession about hiding daughter’s contraception

COLD Feet star Fay Ripley revealed she’s been “hiding” her daughter Parker Lapaine‘s contraception because she’s desperate to become a grandmother.

The actress, 57, said she is encouraging an “early pregnancy’ for her daughter Parker, 20, and is keen for her 16-year-old son Sonny to start thinking about children soon.

Fay is married to Australian actor Daniel Lapaine. The couple tied the knot in Tuscany in 2001 and share kids Parker and Sonny.

Fay made the surprise confession on White Wine Question Time podcast, saying: “I am so broody, and all the time.

“My daughter is actually now 20, and it’s not right but I’m encouraging an early pregnancy. I’m actively hiding contraception.

“I was an old mum in the first place, I can’t hang about. I understand it’s your life but what about mine?”

She continued: “And my 16-year-old son… you know, again, I’ll give it another year and then I’ll start going in there as well, saying “Come on, what you got for me?”

Parker is an actress and is signed to talent agent Curtis Brown, who represent a host of talented stars including Florence Pugh and Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa.

Fay admitted that she still enjoys fussing over her kids, with the actress joking that she can be “quite claustrophobic”.

She said: “I think maybe I’m taking it a bit far. Like I still do a turn-down service. Like literally I do a fold-down.

“I’m putting a flipping pointy thing on the loo roll for when they have their next poo. That’s because I think ‘Ah, that’ll be nice for them’. And I fill a glass of water. At 20 and 16, what am I doing?

“I think if they were on here they’d say it’s quite claustrophobic. So, I’m clearly not getting it all right.

“But I really have felt that to this point it’s been a privilege. I don’t know what will happen.

“I feel like I’ve kept them alive to this point and I’m proud of that, and now ‘Hey, kids, got to keep me alive now!”

Fay starred in Cold Feet for the first three series.

She departed to pursue other career opportunities such as critically-acclaimed roles in Green-Eyed Monster, I Saw You and The Stretford Wives.

Fay has also starred alongside Martin Clunes in Fungus the Bogeyman for CBBC and BBC drama Reggie Perrin.
