The singer has now given fans an update after opening up about the scare on Loose Women last month.
Coleen said on a video posted on her Instagram page: “A few weeks ago, I spoke about how I had been diagnosed with pre skin cancer.
“Nothing major, you know, it is pre cancerous and I need to treat it, but at the moment it’s fine.
“And I, firstly want to thank all of you for your amazing messages. All incredible.
“But more importantly I want to say kind of how touched I was that a lot of you who’d been sitting there worried about marks on your skin or moles that weren’t normally there.
“Most of you went and got them checked. And I’d say a lot of you found out that it was nothing and you’d been worrying for nothing.
“Then a vast majority went and it was basal cell carcinoma or melanoma.
“I’m just so proud that you went because, as you know, by now, there are things out there to help, and the sooner they get it, the better.
“I just wanted to give a big thumbs up to all you guys that were brave enough to go and get checked out. For anyone who still hasn’t get down there, it’s so worth it.
“But so far with me it’s OK. It’s all good.”
Coleen captioned the post: “
Update
“Just a brief update on my situation. Thank you all so much Col xx.”
Many flocked to the comments section to send their love.
One said: “Happy to hear you’re ok: such a lovely lady.”
“Brilliant news. Sending love,” another chimed in.
A third added: “Your an amazing and beautiful woman and an inspiration to us all have nice day take care xxx.”
Coleen spoke out on Loose Women to raise awareness for others, admitting that she had been treated for something she thought was eczema over the last six months.
Coleen said: “It turned out to be a type of cancer that doesn’t necessarily spread but you do need to treat it with chemo cream.”
After going back for the results, Coleen pointed out a mark underneath her eye – and the doctors explained it’s melanoma skin cancer.
She explained that she will be treated again with the chemotherapy cream before a decision is made whether it can be cut out.
Coleen admitted: “It hits you like a ton of bricks.
“It was so shocking, but my typical instinct was to just burst out hysterically laughing.
“I’m so sick of cancer. Also, my instinct was not to tell my family. It’s nothing like what my sisters have gone through. It seemed so pathetic.”
Cancer has ravaged Coleen’s family – having lost their sister Bernie to breast cancer in 2010 aged 52.
Linda recently revealed that her cancer had spread to her brain after first being diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in 2005.
The 64-year-old shaved her head as she undergoes gruelling chemotherapy.
Anne was the first Nolan sister to battle the disease.
The 72-year-old was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000 and then stage three breast cancer 20 years later.
Linda found out she had incurable liver cancer just a few days later.
