The 41-year-old was supposed to make his pantomime debut in December, 2020, as Muddles in Sleeping Beauty.
Unfortunately, his performances were cancelled due to the COVID pandemic and Jason had to wait two years before he could get on stage.
The comedy star has since been headlining The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan, which follows on from what could have happened if Wendy returned to Neverland to find Peter Pan.
Britain’s Got Talent’s Ben Nickless, Ross Carpenter, Jessica Croll and Samara Casteallo are also part of the line-up.
For his first panto performance, Jason agreed to take on the role of dastardly Captain Hook.
And his fans couldn’t not believe their eyes when he showed himself in his full pirate attire on social media.
In a recent post, Jason can be seen backstage, enjoying some down time with a book before heading back into the spotlight, sporting the captain’s black curls and legendary hook.
The actor teased that he had “4 pantos left”
“I know you’ve all been super worried about my foot”, he first captioned.
“Thankfully after a scan yesterday, I’m told that it’s just some nerve damage on the top of my foot and not a fracture or anything more serious.”
“As I’ve most of January & February off I’ve got some time to rest and recover!”
On Christmas Eve, Jason let his Instagram followers know that one of his warm up sessions before a show went horribly wrong.
“What a wally! Went over on my foot during warm up! Doh! Well sore”, he then penned, before adding: “Luckily pirates usually have a limp don’t they?!”
Despite his small injury, Jason was praised for his performance as Captain Hook.
“Watched the panto 2 days ago…..you absolutely killed it!!”, one fan commented.
“My whole family were crying laughing!! Thanks for pushing on through and making this panto the best yet!!”
Another echoed: “Fab panto last night. Didn’t know you had a problem with your foot. You have an amazing voice. Great to meet you.”
Meanwhile, others empathised with the star.
“Good to hear that it’s not broken, you deserve a well earned break Jase”, an Instagram user responded.
“I fell over on boxing day and have been struggling to walk since, I feel your pain”, another added.
