Comedy legend reveals regret over affair with Amanda Holden that ended her marriage

Neil Morrissey, the actor known for his role in Men Behaving Badly, has recently made a light-hearted comment about his past fling with Amanda Holden, stating: "Don't f*** a game-show host's wife."

A five-week romance

Morrissey and Holden had a brief affair while she was still married to fellow TV personality Les Dennis. The relationship, which came to light in 2000, ultimately led to the breakdown of Holden and Dennis' marriage, with the couple divorcing in 2003.

Still facing the blame

Even after more than two decades, Morrissey revealed in a 2014 interview on Piers Morgan's Life Stories that he was still being blamed for the affair. He expressed his frustration, stating that the scandal should have been forgotten and left in the past.

Bringing it up again

In a recent episode of the Restless Natives podcast, Morrissey, now 61, mentioned the affair once more. When asked to share three pieces of life advice, he jokingly said: "Don't p*** into the wind. A gentleman's socks should always match his shoes. Don't f*** a game-show host's wife." The comment left Line of Duty actor Martin Compston and Gordon Smart in fits of laughter.
