The actress is known for playing Flora McKay’s step-mother, Jean, in Byker Grove from 1993 to 1997.
She has also made appearances in ITV soap Emmerdale as a character called Emily.
Emily attended a support group in the village for people suffering from dementia alongside her husband, who suffered from the condition.
She ended up panicking when her husband, Roger, wondered off, but fellow dementia suffered Ashley Thomas walked him back.
Later on, in a conversation with Ashly Thomas and Laurel, she told them that there were good days and bad days with the condition.
Further in the year, Ashley’s father Sandy Thomas called Emily and asked her to speak with Laurel.
Laurel was struggling with the idea of having to care for Ashley, but Emily reassures Laurel that a care assistant could help.
