The coronavirus pandemic has had a significant impact on the soap world and restricted the show’s options of where they can film.

But now the cast of the world’s longest-running soap are back on location for the first time in over a year as they film the court scenes following the murder of Sebastien Franklin in May.

The pictures show Roy Cropper star David Neilson in his traditional character attire holding up an umbrella in the pouring rain.

He waited on the steps of the court with on-screen niece Nina Lucas, played by Mollie Gallagher, who appeared to share a joke with her co-star in between takes.

The teen, who was attacked along with Seb by the evil Corey and his mates, ditched her goth look in the aftermath but in the snaps from filming, she appears to be back to her old self as she sported an all-black attire.

Solicitor Imran (played by Charlie De Melo), is defending his step daughter and is seen chatting outside the court to Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) and things don’t look too good judging by his expressions.

However, Corrie may have to put things on hold as they and fellow ITV soap Emmerdale’s cast and crew are warned of soaring Covid cases.

John Whiston, head of ITV in the north, has urged stars to stick to precautions – or risk throwing the soaps into chaos.

According to MailOnline, the boss sent an email to crew claiming there is an “alarming number” of coronavirus cases on both shows.

Last week the Queen made a visit to the set of Coronation Street – and even popped into the Rovers Return.

The Monarch dropped by to meet the cast of Corrie, which has aired for more than 60 years.
