David ended his marriage to Shona in Coronation Street after two years together

How do David and Shona reunite in Coronation Street?

David and Shona’s Christmas day doesn’t get off to the best start this year when Lily gets a jewellery bead stuck up her nose, leading Shona and David to rush her to A&E.

And things only get worse when Shona spots David flirting with newcomer David and storms off to Victoria Gardens, where David finds her and tries to make peace.

But fans will be relieved to hear that they eventually admit they still love each other and want to make things work, before re-enacting their wedding day – which Shona can’t remember – with the help of Max and Lily.

Will the memories of her wedding day come flooding back?

It certainly looks promising as spoiler pics show Shona grinning with delight as she walks out of their front door in her wedding veil just as snow begins to fall.

Why did David and Shona end things in Coronation Street?

Things haven’t been great for David and Shona ever since she returned to the cobbles in May following last year’s dramatic Christmas shooting.

Shona suffered a brain injury and memory loss after getting caught in the firing line – and was unable to remember who David and the rest of her family were.

David and Shona realised during a discussion last night in the soap that Shona’s impulsive behaviour meant they couldn’t work anymore.

Viewers watched David sit Shona down and ask her if she was happy, before telling her it would be best if they ended things.

Viewers were left gutted by the emotional scenes.

One tweeted: “#Corrie OK but the David/Shona scenes are making me legit sad though.”

Another added: “Nah, it’s not the end for David and Shona. I think in future they will get back together, Shona will, in time, make a full recovery #Corrie.”

A third viewer tweeted: “Awwww David and Shona.”

What has soap boss Ian MacLeod said about David and Shona’s relationship?

Soap boss Ian MacLeod has teased that there is light at the end of the tunnel for Shona and David.

Speaking about the pair’s relationship following Shona’s brain injury, he said: “It’s not love at first sight when she sees him – for his part, David’s challenge is to make her fall back in love with him.

“But she’s also a different proposition too so he also has to fall back in love with her. Nobody has a long term desire to split them up so they will have a happy ending.”
