Coronation Street has officially declared Dee-Dee Bailey, portrayed by Channique Sterling-Brown, as the top character for 2024, with a record-breaking 214 appearances in a single year. This makes her the character with the most episodes in a year since the show's inception in 1960.
Breaking Records
Dee-Dee outshined her closest rival, Nick Tillsley, by a whopping 36 episodes, solidifying her position as the most used character in a year by a significant margin. Nick came in second with 178 episodes in 2024.

An insider shared with The Celeb Report, "Channique picked up a slew of awards in her first year on the soap, and the top brass at Corrie have rewarded her with more episodes than anyone else in a year ever. There are certainly no plans for her to slow down anytime soon."
Other Notable Characters
Following Dee-Dee and Nick, Toyah and Leanne, played by sisters, secured the third and fourth spots with 163 and 156 episodes respectively. A total of 24 characters appeared in over 100 episodes, including Daisy Midgeley, Steve McDonald, and Lauren Bolton.
Goodbyes and Farewells
Despite being her final year on the show, Gail Platt, portrayed by Helen Worth, appeared in only 40 episodes before bidding farewell on Christmas Day. Rita Tanner, played by Barbara Knox, had the least number of appearances among the regular adult cast, with just 20 episodes in 2024.
