Coronation Street fans all spot the same big change as Abi Franklin makes dramatic return

CORONATION Street viewers were over the moon as they spotted the same big change on the long-running soap.

It came as Abi Franklin made her dramatic return to the ITV series on Monday evening.

Abi Franklin made a dramatic return to Corrie

Kevin was emotional as he saw her enter the room

The former drug addict – played by Sally Carman – fled from Weatherfield after her son’s killer Corey Brent escaped justice.

Opening scenes from this week’s episode saw Kevin waking up from a night on the sofa to see Abi standing in the living room.

As Abi begs for Kevin’s forgiveness, she insists the money she stole from their bank account was for food and accommodation.

Hopeful that this is a sign their wedding plans are back on track, Kevin – played by Michael Le Vell – gives Abi a hug.

Picking up on the physical contact between the two actors, viewers rushed to Twitter to comment.

One wrote: “Oh my god, an actual hug!”

Another gushed: “Aww, it’s lovely to see Abi and Kevin hug, no more socially distanced scenes.”

A third commented: “Aw, Kevin & Abbie’s hug!”

While a fourth joked: “At last. A “real hug” in #corrie Tyrone must be distraught his storyline with Alina has ended.”

Like other TV productions across the country, Coronation Street was forced to implement strict social distancing guidelines in order for filming to continue.

The scenes on Corrie last night showed the result of those enforcements being lifted, much to the approval of viewers.

“All the hugs on #corrie has me emotional,” wrote one. “Omg I MISS seeing contact so much!

”.

But it was their on-screen hug that turned viewers’ heads
