CORONATION Street fans are disgusted after Geoff Metcalfe broke into ex-wife Elaine’s psychiatric hospital to terrorise her.
The abusive bully – who is played by actor Ian Bartholomew in the ITV soap – had been stalking his ex after she fled Weatherfield months ago after he attacked her.
When her son Tim found her in the hospital she explained to him how she decided to return to help save him and Yasmeen from Geoff’s influence.
But on the way back she broke down and was found sobbing uncontrollably and was taken to the hospital for help.
After agreeing to testify for Yasmeen, Elaine felt strong and wanted to take on her abuser.
However he got wind of her plans and broke into the hospital to terrify her into being unable to testify.
He told her: “You’re going to stand up and tell everyone the truth – brilliant, I can’t wait.
“What are you going to start with – how terrible a mother you were? Or the psychotic episodes – I can’t wait for everybody to hear about those.
“All the grisly details. What I did was looking after my son – raised him. Because you were too selfish or wrapped up in your head to do your one job and be a mother.
“Tomorrow everyone will know what a failure you are. You think I’m scared of you telling the truth?
“I want people to know what you were really like. If that doesn’t turn the jury I don’t know what will.
“What a horrible malicious person you are. You really think you can help Yasmeen? The jury will take one look at you and throw away the key.”
Elaine began sobbing and cowered behind a chair leaving viewers disgusted.
One wrote: “Anyone else just had enough of Geoff now? Please tell me it ends this week.”
A second said: “Ooh that, horrible Geoff sends my blood pressure up.”
Another added: “The sooner Geoff f***’s off the better.”
