CORONATION Street fans were left very distracted by Adam Barlow blunder as he flees hospital after surgery.
The solicitor – played by Sam Robertson in the ITV soap – was pushed off a balcony earlier this week by Lydia Chambers, leaving him for dead.
At the hospital, doctors told his worried family how he was at risk of losing his sight as he had a bleed behind his eye.
Luckily, the surgery was a success and Adam was alert and speaking with only cuts and bruises on his face.
Last night, Adam covered for Lydia, apologising for what he did, leaving Lydia stunned sitting at his bedside.
Sarah caught Lydia sitting at Adam’s bedside in the hospital – and was horrified.
But she soon got her revenge after following Lydia outside and listening to her confession.
“I’m sorry Sarah,” she said.
“He’s not a bad man, not now, but he was a long time ago. It was me behind the harassment.
“I faked the affair, the death threat flowers, everything. I copied your keys to break into your flat, smashing my flat up to frame him and planting a burner phone so he’d look guilty.
“I didn’t have an affair with him.
“The worst part was lying to you. You’re the best friend I’ve had in a long time.
“But when I saw who you were with, who you were married to, and I say he hadn’t changed – I wanted to help you before he hurt you too.”
Sarah pretended to need a drink and then called the police before Lydia told her about her abortion and what happened.
As Lydia promised to leave, Sarah dropped the bombshell as the police arrived.
Sarah then went to speak to Adam and fill him in on what happened – but he was horrified to hear Lydia was in the police station.
Despite his injuries, he left hospital and went to give a statement to the police – lying to ensure Lydia went free.
Adam ensured she wouldn’t lose her son and the pair called a truce.
Viewers were baffled that Adam was able to leave the hospital in his condition – with fans suggesting he’d made a “miraculous recovery”.
One wrote: “Adam recovered from a major operation in minutes and walked out of the hospital to go to the cop shop. What a load of old b******s. Who writes this complete and utter s**t?”
Another posted: “Adam’s up and about right after a high fall onto a concrete floor then an emergency op to help regain his eyesight, I sleep in an awkward position for a couple of hours and I’m crippled for days!!!”
“Adam made a miraculous recovery,” as a third said:
A fourth commented: “Well he recovered quick.”
Another added: “That hospital must be top notch for Adam to recover from surgery that fast.”
