NEWBIE Lydia Chambers has become quite the topic of conversation among Coronation Street viewers.
But fans of the long-running soap are speculating that a shocking twist could be on the way, and Daisy Midgeley could be at risk.
Rebecca Ryan’s character has remained a mystery since her first steps in the cobbles.
After befriending Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien), it became clear that Lydia shares a past with Sarah’s husband Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson).
Both have had a few awkward run-ins but Lydia has been getting close to his uncle, Weatherfield teacher Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).

However, some Corrie fans are left scratching their heads over her true motives and have come to the conclusion she could be using Daniel to get to her ex Adam.
“Something is telling me that Daniel needs to watch his back with Lydia on the scene now”, one fan wrote on Twitter.
A second viewer chimed in, adding to a shocking paternity theory about Adam: “Is this Lydia sniffing round Daniel to get closer to obvious baby daddy Adam?”
“Lydia totally sniffing around Daniel to get closer to Baby Daddy Adam potentially? Bunny boiler alert!”, penned a third fan.
And with Daniel’s upcoming kiss with former partner Daisy (Charlotte Jordan), Lydia could be up to anything for her scheming to work.
ITV viewers are expecting a sinister twist for the Rovers barmaid.
“Who is getting psycho vibes about Lydia… watch your back Daisy”, commented a viewer.
Other comments kept pouring in with one social media user writing: “I really did not like the look of that kitchen knife she was(wielding) using… Watch out Daniel…”
Another fan went on: “Is Lydia going to be one of those bunny boiler women?”
While Adam claims he only had a fling with Lydia, the pair were reportedly in a six-month long relationship while at university.
But while Daisy will perhaps have to wait before trouble knocks on her door, Coronation Street bosses have already teased a tense love triangle, à la “Fatal Attraction.”
Executive producer Iain MacLeod said: “We wanted an updated version of a 90s thriller – like Fatal Attraction.”
“They look horribly dated in gender politics. So what would it look like as a 21st century story?”
Fatal Attraction was released in cinemas in 1987 and starred Michael Douglas, Glenn Close and Anne Archer.
Glenn’s character famously became obsessed with Michael’s after a weekend love affair.
While events in Coronation aren’t likely to be of the same calibre, Iain teased that things will not go well between Lydia, Sarah and Adam.
“I hope we’ve crafted it, everyone behaves badly, it’s very nuanced but she becomes a threat to the marriage; a catalyst for Sarah and Adam to destroy themselves.”
“There is lots of scheming and intelligent subterfuge in several parties. It culminates in some exciting pay off in the first six months.”
