Festive Episodes Bring Surprise Error

Coronation Street fans were left baffled during this year's festive episodes when they noticed a major blunder. Viewers of the popular ITV soap opera spotted an error with one of the props outside the Rovers Return pub.

A Glaring Mistake

In a heartwarming scene, Carla Connor (played by Alison King) bid farewell to her husband Peter Barlow (played by Chris Gascoyne) on Boxing Day. However, amidst the emotional goodbye, fans couldn't help but notice a glaring mistake with the Rovers Return's Christmas decorations.

A Pub with Closed Doors

The soap's prop team decorated the outside of the pub with multicoloured Christmas lights, despite the fact that the pub was closed and had no landlord. Fans took to social media to express their confusion and raise questions about who put up the lights and who was paying for the electricity.

Son's Anguish

As Peter left the cobbles to embark on a sailing adventure around the world, his son Simon (played by Alex Bain) was left fuming and upset as his father didn't say goodbye. Fans now speculate that this could lead Simon down a path of alcoholism, mirroring his father's struggles.

15-Year Role Comes to an End

In addition to the blunder, it was revealed earlier this week that Alex Bain, who has played the role of Simon for the past 15 years, will be leaving the show. The actor, who joined the cast at the age of seven, shocked fans in 2018 when he announced that he was becoming a teenage father in real life. Now 22, Bain will bow out of the soap with an explosive storyline this summer.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays on ITV1 and ITVX from 8pm.
