But she was shocked to see Max had moved on with Sabrina

Max Turner (portrayed by Paddy Bever) was shocked when his former girlfriend Lauren came back to Weatherfield after leaving earlier this year in the aftermath of Griff’s arrest.

Since then, Lauren tried to help her father avoid a harsh sentence but in scenes due to air on ITV next week, she rejects a call from him while admitting to Max that she still misses him.

While her family life may not be going as well as she’d hoped, Lauren gets a big job opportunity in one of Corrie’s legendary businesses.

Far too young to stand behind the Rovers bar, Lauren is over the moon when Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) announces that she has got her a job at Roy’s Rolls, Roy Cropper’s café.

But while she’s happy and grateful, Lauren is clearly nervous.

Later on, Max wishes Lauren good luck and says he will pop into the café to give her moral support.

Lauren gets off to a rocky start in the café but Shona assures Roy (David Neilson) she’ll get the hang of it.

Unfortunately, things gets worse for Lauren when Max’s love interest Sabrina Adetiba (Luana Santos) approaches the lad and suggests they hang out at No.8.

Max decides to spend as much time with Sabrina as he can and sends Lauren a text telling her he won’t have time to drop by the café.

Unbeknown to him, a downcast Lauren watches him from across the street as he heads home with Sabrina.

However, things are far from going uphill for the teen lovebirds – Sabrina admits to Max that she really likes him but as long as Lauren remains in his life, a relationship is out of the question.

Max is torn but who will he choose?

Lauren returns home and tells Max and Shona that Roy’s given her the job on a permanent basis.

Could she breach Roy’s trust?

Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
