Coronation Street legend makes shock return leaving Bernie Winter seething

GEMMA Winter is getting ready to tie the knot with long-term partner Chesney Brown.

But when a forgotten member of the family returns to Coronation Street, her mother Bernie is less than pleased.

Gemma Winter (portrayed by Dolly-Rose Campbell) has been planning ahead for her dream wedding, despite her twin brother Paul Foreman’s health and legal troubles.

In recent scenes of the ITV drama, Gemma and Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) made the decision to invite a very special member of their large family – Joseph’s maternal grandmother Linda Hancock.

Coming up next week, actress Jacqueline Leonard reprises her role as Linda arrives and thanks Gemma for inviting her to the wedding.

Linda soon offers to pay for the catering… but Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) is left seething.

How will Gemma react to Linda’s offer?

While that remains to be seen, Gemma soon urges Chesney to get himself down to the charity shop where, according to Roy Cropper, there are a couple of suits that should fit him and his son Joseph.

Following their charity shop trip, Linda finds both Chesney and Joseph wearing their terrible 70s wedding suits, prompting her to offer to buy them new ones.

The father-son duo admire their new wedding attire when Gemma returns home – will she find out what Linda’s been up to?

How will Bernie react?

Linda was last seen in Weatherfield in March, 2022, following a storyline which saw her suggest that Joseph should live in Portugal with her.

The young boy played by William Flanagan was feeling left out by his father Chesney following the birth of quadruplets.

To make matters worse, he was also bullied by his classmates due to his father low income.

Joseph was also at the core of a shocking kidnapping ordeal during which Bernie Winter tried to get her hands on some extra cash.
