Coronation Street legend unrecognisable after panto makeover with dark hair and beard – but can you guess who it is?

A PANTO makeover has made one Coronation Street legend unrecognisable, as he takes to the stage for the festive season.

His silver fox look on the ITV soap has now been replaced by long dark locks and a beard.

Tristan Gemmill is best known for playing chef Robert Preston on the soap

Tristan Gemmill, 54, is currently delighting families in Nottingham, playing the menacing role of the Sheriff in Robing Hood at the Theatre Royal.

He revealed his new look on his Instagram page and captioned the snap: “The Sheriff is in the house!!”

Tristan is best known for playing cheating chef Robert Preston on Corrie alongside his onscreen wife Kym Marsh.

He dramatically left the show back in 2019, when his character died on Christmas Day.

He gets caught in the crossfire as Derek Milligan decides to get revenge on Gary Windass after their business partnership soured.

Derek furiously wields a gun in the Rovers and during the firefight Robert is fatally shot.

Tristan originally joined Corrie in 2015, but devastated fans when he tweeted n April 2019: “Folks, I just wanted to let you know that the time has come for me to hang up the chef’s gear and head for pastures new.”

His most dramatic storylines on the cobbles have included an affair with Carla O’Connor, fighting testicular cancer and having a secret baby behind Michelle’s back.

After leaving the soap he went on to star in the West End alongside Beverley Knight in the musical The Bodyguard.
