The undercover criminal portrayed by Todd Boyce has been trying to make millions by taking advantage of whoever he could in the cobbles.

In recent months, he made Elaine Jones believe he was ready to commit to her and marry her while filing a fraudulent life insurance claim in her name.

Thankfully for her, Elaine discovered what Stephen was up to before he could kill her off and claim a fourth victim.

But with Elaine out of the way, Stephen is free to roam in Weatherfield in search of a new target – and Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) is at the top of his list next week.

Coming up on ITV, Stephen calls at the Rovers and invites Jenny to join him at a wine tasting event later.

But she is less than pleased when she ends up at Lily’s birthday party – can Stephen win her round?

Viewers of the Manchester-based program will know that Stephen has developed obsessive feelings for Jenny, going as far as to kill her fiancé Leo Thompkins, his first ever victim in Weatherfield.

Jenny has most recently had to face the possibility of selling the Rovers Return Inn, of which she has been the landlady since 2018.

The pub’s fate has been hanging in the balance, with fans convinced barmaid Gemma Winter could be the ideal secret weapon to save it.

Meanwhile, Stephen could face comeuppance for his crimes as Tim Metcalfe continues to be suspicious of him.

However, David Platt star Jack P. Shepherd recently revealed he’ll be heavily involved in his on-screen uncle’s downfall.

“Things are getting on top of him and people are starting to find out. And I think I’m heavily involved in it, although I haven’t read it yet! People have said I am. People have said I’m in it, so that’s always nice”, the soap actor told Digital Spy.

“I’m interested to know how it ends. It’ll be sad if Uncle Stephen does have to leave permanently, because it’s always a shame when you lose a Platt – someone close to your family. Hopefully he just gets arrested or something, but I don’t know, because he has done a lot of bad stuff and he’s killed people!”

Could Jenny join in?

Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
