The teen played by Elle Mulvaney was raped earlier this year after Aaron Sandford broke up with his then-girlfriend Summer Spellman.
While it took her weeks to come to terms with what had happened, Amy did everything in her power to make Aaron pay for his actions.
Overwhelmed by her trauma, accused of lying and feeling helpless, Amy decided to take matters into her own hands by exposing Aaron on social media.
Unfortunately, this resulted in retaliation from Aaron’s father Eric as he’s since been adamant on making Amy face justice for her post.
Amy’s parents immediately jumped in, ready to sell whatever they could to help her stand her ground in the libel case.
But tonight on ITV, Amy’s worried sick at the thought of Mary losing her job and Billy, Paul and Summer being made homeless.
Abi Webster’s (Sally Carman) troubled to hear that Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) are selling up to do battle with Aaron.
After a meeting with their solicitor, a fired up Eric tells Aaron that Amy’s a liar, they’re going to prove it in court and she’ll get her just deserts.
After a heart to heart with Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon), Amy announces she’s going to write a retraction as too many people are suffering.
Amy shows Aaron her written retraction but when he points out that it doesn’t make sense, Amy sees red.
She tells him it’s hard to make sense of a pack of lies and if he doesn’t like it, he should write it himself and she’ll sign it.
As he struggles to write the retraction, Aaron goes back over that night – could this lead to him admitting Amy is telling the truth?
