IN recent weeks, Adam Barlow has been the victim of a hate campaign instigated by his former girlfriend Lydia Chambers.
Coming up, the solicitor played by Sam Robertson confronts his tormentor in Coronation Street.
With a loving wife and a successful career, Adam had everything he needed to be happy.
Unfortunately, in December a familiar face from his past vowed to destroy all that he held dear and has succeeded in making his life a living hell – for motives that still need to be cleared.
In scenes due on our screens next week, Adam is tired of being made out to be the bad guy by Lydia (portrayed by Rebecca Ryan) and vows to take her down.

It all begins when his uncle Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) urges him to phone his wife Sarah (Tina O’Brien) to try and patch things up with her after a drunken night out during which Adam made a shocking claim about his other half.
But in his hungover state, the Underworld PA refuses to build a bridge and sends Adam packing.
As he gets thrown out, he spots Lydia in the cobbles and storms over to her.
Fuming, Adam tells her he will prove what a liar she is as her schemes have considerably damaged his life.
Corrie fans are familiar with what Lydia has recently been capable of.
After terrorising Adam and Sarah ahead of Valentine’s Day, vandalising her ex’s car and having him held at gunpoint in his own office, Lydia took her plan to the next level.
With fraudulent bank statements and text messages, she managed to convince Sarah along with other Weatherfield residents that she was having an affair with Adam.
Moreover, Lydia pinned a crime on Adam, making the authorities believe he had trashed her flat.
As if that wasn’t enough, Adam’s credibility as solicitor was also put in jeopardy with hateful comments posted to his business’ website.
But while everyone appears to believe Lydia, one long-standing resident is becoming increasingly aware that appearances can be deceiving when it comes to the PA.
ITV viewers have already suspected that Carla Connor (Alison King) could be Adam’s biggest ally in exposing Lydia and spoilers have confirmed the businesswoman will question everything about her.
