CATHY Matthews has been settled in Weatherfield since 2015.
But this could all change as her partner Brian Packham shares plans of leaving Coronation Street next week.
As ITV viewers may know, Cathy Matthews (portrayed by Melanie Hill) has been romantically involved with Brian Packham (played by Peter Gunn) since 2017 and the couple are known as the owners of The Kabin in the cobbles.
However, the pair may be looking to start afresh away from Weatherfield in upcoming scenes of the soap after Cathy made a shocking discovery.
Next week, Brian witters on about the new life he has planned for them in Cornwall but Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) can see Cathy isn’t enthused by the prospect.
Brian is told he needs a more romantic approach and decides to suggest to Cathy they get married as a result.

While her initial reaction to Brian’s proposal remains to be seen, Cathy is urged by Evelyn to come clean about her misgivings.
Cathy is clearly reluctant to follow through as she later tells Brian that in answer to his question, she would like to tie the knot with him.
Brian is thrilled and tells her that despite everything, he doesn’t want to lose her.
He then reveals that he’s put an offer on a house in Cornwall in the hopes that she’ll come with him.
But while she’s still trying to hide her own mistakes, will Cathy agree and leave Weatherfield with her other half?
This could be the case as actress Melanie Hill revealed that she has left the Manchester-based program after seven years in May, 2022.
The on-screen newsagent claimed that the Covid pandemic was the opportunity for her to assess her priorities, stating: “it’s not been an easy thing to decide.”
