After months of hardship which even involved sleeping in the rough, Kelly (played by Millie Gibson) has finally found happiness.
In recent scenes of the Manchester-based program, she was seen falling for Aadi Alahan as the pair faked an engagement only to realise their romantic feelings were very real.
This led to them making their commitment official and they came up with the idea of eloping to Gretna Green.
With Aadi keeping his father Dev up to speed, much to the businessman’s astonished disappointment, the couple are ready to take their relationship to the next level.

And while Dev is opposed to the union, Kelly and Aadi are getting the feigned support of Gary Windass (Mikey North) and his wife Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon).
However, next week, Gary gets a nasty shock when Sharon Geary (Naomi Cooper-Davis) pays Kelly a visit to celebrate her engagement.
Gary begs Rick Neelan’s former loan shark accomplice not to ruin Kelly’s happiness by revealing he killed her father.
Aadi then lets slip that Kelly was kidnapped by some of Rick’s victims before being saved by Gary.
Still moved by his devotion to her and as her guardian, Kelly asks Gary to give her away at her wedding – and Sharon is horrified.
Sharon hasn’t been seen in the cobbles since September 22, 2021, and made her Weatherfield debut in 2019, when she was paired up with Gary who was planning on paying off his debt to Rick.
As ITV viewers know, Gary murdered Rick in self-defence after the ruthless loan shark terrorised residents in the cobbles but his secret is only known by a handful of people.
Among them was Laura Neelan who, as she was terminally ill, took the blame for Gary before breathing her last.
But while Gary is worried about Sharon, he could actually be caught up by the truth after Kelly makes a shocking discovery about her late mother.
