Coronation Street spoilers: Nina Lucas gets Christmas miracle from Carla Connor after suffering horrific panic attacks

CORONATION Street’s Nina Lucas strikes up a sweet relationship with her uncle’s Roy’s best mate Carla Connor as she battles crippling anxiety.

Actress Mollie Gallagher’s character – who is now in charge of Roy’s Rolls after her relative fled Weatherfield for work overseas – has been left alone to run a business and cope with her tough situation.

Carla, a close friend of Roy and his sadly-deceased wife, Hayley, proves a magical source of help in the run up to the festive period, Coronation Street spoilers reveal.

The businesswoman clocks onto Nina’s poor mental health as she struggles to get a hold of Asha.

Earlier in the day Nina and Dev’s daughter witnessed Fay brake sharply and stall her car and, while Asha found it hilarious, it left Nina deeply troubled.

As she struggles to make contact with the teen, Carla offers her support as they attend a festive meal for the Platts and Barlows.

Nina then candidly admits her anxiety is sparked by a fear for Asha’s safety – and a general worry all her loved ones will come to harm.

Yet she swiftly denies Asha’s invite to spend Christmas Day with her family – instead choosing to sit with her thoughts in the Street’s infamous cafe.

It’s there where Alison King’s character treats Nina to a very special, mystery, Christmas present as the troubled youngster frankly admits her anxiety is crippling her.

Carla herself hasn’t had the best of days with partner Peter as they spent the day at Sarah Platt’s, so she was seemingly eager to help out.

Corrie fans have previously gushed over Roy and Carla’s close friendship and, in Roy’s absence, she is playing her part and looking after his loved ones.

The duo have always been thick as thieves, with Roy having Carla’s back after a breakdown which saw her living on the streets.

EMOTIONAL WATCH

Previously, Corrie viewers were left “in tears” as they witnessed Nina suffer a panic attack when she saved Kelly from a gang of thugs.

The cafe owner went searching for Kelly after Stu told her the extent of her homeless and drug problems.

Pushing through her flashbacks of the attack on her and Seb, which resulted in her former boyfriend’s death, Nina fought through and shouted at the gang to leave Kelly alone.

The gang began threatening Nina, but she stood her ground – despite having a panic attack.

Nina forced them to leave and she and Kelly were safe.

After a heart to heart, Nina took her home to the cobbles to the Alahans.

But once she got back to the cafe, she suffered another panic attack, and fans were heartbroken for her.

One tweeted several crying emojis and wrote: “Oh poor Nina. She doesn’t want to be on her own.”

A second shared an emoji with welled up eyes, adding: “Nina’s having a panic attack and PTSD bless her.”

Another added: “Poor Nina, she’s clearly far from ok right now. She needs Roy more than ever sadly.”
