RAY Crosby is attacked by gangsters as Debbie Webster demands he signs over the development company to her next week in Coronation Street. 

The sleazy businessman – who is played by Mark Frost in the ITV soap – will struggle to get his lucrative new development off the ground as his financial woes escalate.

Gangster Mick throws Ray out of his van and demands his money

Viewers will see Mick throw Ray out of the back of his van and tell him he’s got 24 hours to find the money he owes him.

Later, Debbie reminds Ray that they’re completing a couple of house sales later.

Ray puts on a brave face but later worries when Susan, the Chairperson of the planning committee, tells him she wants £20,000 or she’ll reveal he bribed her.

Ray reveals he had to use money put aside for the development on bribes

Debbie is flabbergasted when Ray revealed he’s used the money they’d put aside for the houses to keep Susan quiet. 

Debbie loses all hope when Ray is arrested on suspicion of attempted rape and later, when he’s released, she demands that he sign over the development company to her.

Meanwhile, Yasmeen gets a call from her solicitor as she packs up the last of her things.

She’s stunned when she’s told that there’s been a delay as Ray’s funds haven’t been cleared. 

Yasmeen announces gleefully to Alya that she’ll be staying put until she sees Ray’s money.

Coronation Street’s producer Iain MacLeod previously hinted at Ray’s downfall: “[Ray] becomes more desperate to get this building project over the line, because we discover he’s got quite a lot riding on it.

“If it goes wrong, it could be curtains for him, very literally.”
