SEAN Tully has taken a backseat from all the drama in the cobbles in recent months.
However, the long-standing Coronation Street resident is set to be catapulted back into the spotlight with a shocking new romance.
Bold and witty Sean Tully (portrayed by Antony Cotton) has become a fan-favourite among viewers of the ITV drama.
But while many off-screen have a soft spot for him, the Underworld machinist is struggling to find someone to sweep him off of his feet.
This could change in upcoming scenes of the Manchester-based program.
While at The Rovers, Sean bumps into a man called Frank who immediately shows signs he’s smitten.

Frank flirts with Sean before eventually leaving – prompting Rovers landlady Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) to urge Sean to go after him.
Could love finally be in the cards for Sean?
An avid gossiper, Sean has not been the luckiest in matters of the heart over the years.
Sean has known two loves during his 19 years in Weatherfield but both romances ended in heartbreak.
He was first infatuated with sonographer Marcus Dent (Charlie Condou) who sadly left him for Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon).
Later on, Sean was romantically involved with Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) but the vicar dumped him in 2016 when he fell for Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).
This ultimately led to a lot of turmoil for Sean, as he was left to sleep in the rough.
But Sean’s friendship with his long-term pal Eileen became rockier than ever, as he asked her to pick sides between him and her own son Todd.
Speaking of which, Sean has also been known to be a faithful friend, standing by Eileen’s side after she discovered a surprising secret about her own partner George Shuttleworth.
Both friends first believed the undertaker was a two-timer, until it was revealed George was actually a heavy snorer.
Aside from this, Sean has also been trying to get involved in his son Dylan’s life.
ITV viewers may remember that Sean agreed to be a donor for Violet Wilson to help her have a baby in 2007.
While it was initially thought that he wouldn’t be involved in the child’s life, Sean changed his mind after Dylan’s birth, prompting Violet to flee the cobbles with Jamie Baldwin.
The small family moved to London but Sean soon caught up with them.
Dylan was last seen in the Street in 2020, as he tried to bond with his father but things quickly got in the way and he left.
Fortunately, both Antony Cotton and Liam Mccheyne have teased and confirmed Dylan will be coming back to Weatherfield ahead of a new storyline.
“I have a great year ahead”, Antony told Manchester Evening News in March, 2022.
“Sean is going to finally get his son Dylan back home for a great run of storylines that will map out the next 12 months.”
Antony had also promised at the time that his character would get another shot at love.
