TOYAH Battersby is going through turmoil following the death of her husband Imran Habeeb.
But some exits often bring new faces to Coronation Street as she’s faced with a ghost from the past – Spider Nugent.
What will come of Toyah Battersby (portrayed by Georgia Taylor) as the police investigate her potential involvement in Imran Habeeb’s death?
While only the authorities will have the last word, Toyah tries to distract herself from being on the wrong side of the law – which has led her sister Leanne (Jane Danson) to steal from The Bistro for her.
With her troubles and Leanne’s lack of faith in her weighing heavily on her mind, Toyah mounts a protest against waste incineration next week.
Leanne, more than determined to help, insists she won’t back off, prompting Toyah to invite her to join the protest.

The protest is a hit as Leanne, Mary, Brian, Nina and Asha join Toyah and the seasoned protesters she has mobilised in Weatherfield.
All residents of the cobbles are successful in blocking the council bin wagon on Victoria Street and Toyah quickly leaps into the cab of the wagon, much to Leanne’s shock and dismay.
Soon, she’s joined by a man who picks his way through the protest group to clamber into the cab next to her.
Toyah is shocked when she sees the man is her former boyfriend, Spider Nugent.
The pair catch up until Toyah breaks down and tells Spider all about Imran’s death.
She eventually decides to let him stay over.
Actor Martin Hancock has been announced to return to the cobbles in April, 2022.
Martin hasn’t been seen in Coronation Street since February, 2003, making his first appearance six years earlier when he showed up at Emily Bishop’s door.
