WHILE more drama ensues, soap bosses will give a heartfelt tribute to victims of the Manchester Arena Bombing.
In a solemn upcoming scene, two Coronation Street characters will pay their respects.
Tensions arise in the cobbles as many Corrie character are at loggerheads with one another.
But while Tracy Barlow contemplates getting revenge on Daniel Osbourne for Amy’s drink being spiked and Abi Franklin tries her best to get her son Alfie back, soap writers remembered a sad anniversary.
On May 22, 2017, an Islamist extremist suicide bomber detonated a homemade bomb as people were leaving an Ariana Grande concert in the Manchester Arena.
The tragic event cost the lives of twenty-three people, including the attacker, and more than a thousand people were left injured.

This hit Corrie stars close to home as the iconic ITV soap is filmed in a MediaCity UK, located in Salford, Manchester.
Next week, Eileen Grimshaw (portrayed by Sue Cleaver) and Gail Platt (Helen Worth) put their ongoing feud aside for once.
Both characters will place flowers by the Arena memorial bench to pay their respects.
The sombre scene will mark the fifth anniversary of so many lives lost.
This wouldn’t be the first time Coronation Street honours victims of the Manchester Arena attack.
In March, 2018, Corrie bosses revealed the new Victoria Street set extension at their studio base.
This included a community garden, seen on screens on multiple occasions, as well as a commemorative bench.
The twenty-two victims of the bombing also included Corrie super fan Martyn Hett, whom was also honoured on the show’s set.
Martyn’s family were the first to see the changed set during a special commemoration event in the cobbles.
Diehard Coronation Street fans may be aware that a plaque on the bench also mentions Martyn as it reads: “For Martyn and all those who lost their lives on the 22nd of May of May 2017. We stand together.”
Two Manchester bees, a well-known emblem for the city for over 150 years, are also on the plaque.
