CORONATION Street star Gary Damer looks unrecognisable 21 years after Wayne Haye’s kidnap plot.
Fans of the ITV soap will remember him as the actor who took on the role of Roy and Hayley Cropper’s foster child in the early 2000s.

Gary played the youngster, who was being abused by his mum Sheila Hayes’s boyfriend Alex Swinton, between 2000 and 2001.
He appeared in over 40 episodes during that time – and at one point Hayley and Roy decided to flee Weatherfield to help protect the young lad.
They soon realised that wasn’t the right thing to do and went to the police instead.
His alter-ego returned to Corrie in 2019 as a health and safety inspector when the Underworld roof collapsed – but was played by actor Adam Barlow instead.
Since his stint on Corrie, Gary has been up to a number of things, including hanging out with none other than Ed Sheeran.
He now hosts the Behind The Medal podcast, and the Shape of You singer was a guest.
The actor even shared a selfie of the pair hanging out on his Instagram.
After Corrie Gary didn’t stop acting either.
He’s appeared in a number of TV shows since his departure.
Gary has starred in The League of Gentleman, Dead Mad Weds, Hotel Trubble, Fresh Meat and Some Girls.
