Jodie Prenger Announces Exciting New Venture Outside Coronation Street

Coronation Street actress Jodie Prenger, best known for her role as Rovers Return barmaid Glenda Shuttleworth, has revealed that she will be taking on an X-rated new job away from the popular soap. Prenger, 44, along with her friend and fellow actor Neil Hurst, has written a "rude" and "very camp" theatre show called A Very, Very Bad Cinderella, which is set to launch this Christmas. The play has been described on social media as "the naughtiest and stagey-est show this Christmas".

From I'd Do Anything to Coronation Street

Jodie Prenger shot to fame in 2008 as the winner of the reality competition show I'd Do Anything. The show aimed to find an actress to play the role of Nancy in Oliver! on the West End. Prenger made her debut in the show in December of that year and continued in the role until March 2010. She recently joined the cast of Coronation Street as Glenda in August, but has expressed her fears of being killed off in the current serial killer storyline.

Could Glenda be the Next Victim?

Speaking to Digital Spy about the plot, Prenger revealed that her character Glenda may be one of the next victims of the serial killer on the show. She mentioned that Glenda has never liked the character Stephen Reid and shared her worry that she might meet her end at the hands of the killer. However, Prenger also assured fans that in real life, actor Stephen Reid is actually one of the nicest people.
