The scaffolding has appeared for much of the last year

However, in a new Instagram video, Alya Nazir actress Sair appeared to confirm that the set had finally been shifted, delighting viewers who had been fed up of the long-running story.

Whilst Sair’s Instagram post did not give away just exactly the fate of the scaffolding, it showed that number 1 was back to basking in all its glory without the hideous building work adorning its front.

The video is good news for fans of the ITV soap opera as it will no longer mean characters bumping into one another as a result of the building infrastructure.

Viewers will remember the scaffolding going up as early as July last year when Steve McDonald hired dodgy builder Arnie to fix the Barlow house’s roof problems.

Playing out over the summer months, a disgruntled Tracy Barlow was left furious that Steve had been paying off the builders before the work was completed.

In another blow, the Barlow’s toilet was left out of action, forcing them to use a portaloo placed underneath the scaffolding right at the front of the house.

By November time, there was no sign of the scaffolding moving and things with Arnie really came to a head when Adam Barlow issued the scam builder with a chilling threat.

Arnie gave the Barlow clan something else to worry about when he demanded to be paid upfront for fixing the toilet.

It prompted Adam to step up and have a word with Arnie himself.

The solicitor portrayed by Sam Robertson didn’t go easy on the builder – and even used Tracy’s past behind bars to his advantage.

Although news on the scaffolding has gone quiet in recent weeks, it appears that the Barlow’s turmoil will be over very soon and they will have a fully functioning roof once again.
