The couple shared the happy news earlier today

Tanisha, who has played the schoolgirl for 13 years – shared a snap of the front door of her new property.

She posted a photo of the house keys, alongside a photo of her beaming next to boyfriend Lucas.

The soap star wrote: “I can’t quite believe we’ve bought our first home!!! Cue the typical pic hehe.”

Her co-stars were quick to congratulate her on the big achievement.

Former Corrie star Alexandra Mardell wrote: “Congrats woooooo.”

Kel Allen posted: “Yayyyyy home owners! A huge congratulations to you both.”

Samia Longchambon and Millie Gibson also shared their congratulations.

Tanisha has become a fan favourite on the ITV show and has grown up in front of the cameras.

The actress couldn’t look more different to her cobbles character after she enjoyed a recent night out.

She got dolled up for a glitzy night out, wearing a slinky floor-length dress in the selfie, which featured a thigh split and thin shoulder straps.

She teamed her chocolate coloured frock with a pair of simple heels and loosely curled her long, dark hair.

Tanisha has starred as Asha in Coronation Street since 2009. Her character is the on-screen twin of Aadi, played by Adam Hussain.

The actress was just seven years old when she joined the soap and has grown up in front of the nation.

Asha and Aadi live in Weatherfield with their doting dad Dev (Jimmi Harkishin). He has raised them since the tragic death of their mum Sunita (Shobna Gulati).

Last year, the trio featured in an incredibly dramatic storyline for ‘Halloween Week’.

They were involved in a horrific car accident, with Dev having to decide which of his children to save before the vehicle exploded.

Thankfully, although he picked Asha, both teenagers survived the crash.

Tanisha does not have any plans to leave Coronation Street, however she previously admitted that she admires the successful career Michelle Keegan has enjoyed since quitting the soap.

She told OK! magazine in October 2020: “Michelle Keegan has gone so far.

“You look at people who’ve left soaps and a lot of them you don’t see much of again, but Michelle has really made a name for herself.”

But Tanisha added: “I’m hoping to be there until they kick me out!”
