Coronation Street fans were left stunned as Glory Bailey, daughter of regular character Michael Bailey, made a surprise return after being recast. Mayia M took over the role, debuting earlier this week after a year-long absence.

Glory, previously played by Eleanor Beckles, reappeared to reveal a secret about her aunt Dee-Dee's pregnancy. The character joined her family for a game of cricket, causing a scare for pregnant Dee-Dee.
Recasting confirmation
Acting agency The Drama MOB, founded by Corrie star Tina O'Brien, confirmed the recast on Instagram, welcoming Maiya to the show. Maiya took over from Eleanor, who had played the role since 2021.
Double celebration
Maiya's debut episode coincided with her 4th birthday, adding an extra celebration to her first appearance on the iconic soap opera.
