Aaron wants to use the money to pay for his dad’s rehab treatment
The married couple are giving Summer and Aaron £10,000 in exchange for their baby.
The money was going to pay for Aaron’s alcoholic dad Eric Sandford’s (Craig Cheetham) rehab treatment.
In recent scenes, Mike and Esther asked Summer to move in with them to be closer to their unborn child.
Viewers know that Summer had a miscarriage, but is hesitant to tell Mike and Esther not wanting to disappoint them.
But are they as genuine as they seem?
Some fans Esther could be Summer’s real mother.
Summer’s birth mum is unknown to viewers after she was adopted by dad Drew Spellman who died from cancer.
Actress Harriet told The Celeb Report: “She [Summer] is terrified to let them down because she’s met them and empathises with them and knows they are actually a good couple and Ester just wants so badly to love a child.”
She added that alarm bells started ringing for Aaron which causes conflict with Summer – is Aaron right to be wary?
The actress continued: “There is a few twists and turns in the storyline with Mike and Ester. There are so moments where there might be a bit of doubt creeping in or a bit of suspicion…
“Anyone can be dangerous on this street you don’t know who to trust really.”
Viewers are worried for Summer as they grow suspicious of Mike and Esther.
Taking to Twitter, one said: “Well that’s Summer dead and buried in the garden then, why would you agree to move in?! #corrie.”
Another wrote: “Summer, You should just tell them. You’re going to get in so much trouble.”
A third penned: “I dread to think what Mike and Esther would do if they find out shes lying.”
A fourth commented: “Creepy Esther and Mike holding Summer hostage when they find out about what’s happened with the baby.”
Aaron actor James told the Daily Star: “Maybe Mike and Esther have other intentions but maybe not. We’ll have to see.”
Daniel Brocklebank, who plays vicar Billy, added: “There’s something a little sinister about them I think.
“A lot of their scenes are without me so it’s interesting to see it unfolding as a viewer.
“But there will be plenty of twists and turns before the storylines finishes.”
Fans will have to wait and see if there’s more to Esther and Mike than what meets the eye.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
