Christina is Daisy’s mum

Christina is Daisy Midgeley’s mum and little is known about her with Daisy not speaking to her and choosing not to speak about her to anybody else.

In new scenes, Christian will rock up at the Rovers after hearing through an old school friend that her daughter is planning to tie the know with boyfriend Daniel Osbourne.

Upon her arrival, Daisy is left convinced that her mum won’t be sticking around too long and as such continues showing all her attention to step-mum Jenny – a move that will ignite a fiery spark for Christina.

Speaking of her character and the chaos she is set to bring to the Street, Amy told the Metro: “It’s instant rivalry.”

She continued: “It’s a really difficult set-up between the two of them, it’s electrically scary because Jenny’s a hell of a force to be reckoned with and so is Christina and I don’t think either of them are willing to back down and it’s all to do with the fact that they both really want Daisy’s attention, they want Daisy to love them.

“It’s not very becoming for a pair of women in their 50s but the bottom line is that’s what it is. Terrible rivalry, really bad.”

Amy also admitted that the backstory of the love rivalry between the pair will also be explored as Christina feels she was wronged by Jenny in the past.

She added: “Also, Christina believes that Jenny ran off with her husband. As far as she’s concerned, Jenny is the reason Christina’s marriage broke down. If you ask Jenny, she will say the marriage was broken anyway, but Christina’s got it in her head that Jenny was the reason her husband didn’t want to be married anymore and that was the reason she had to leave, which was all so painful.”

Amy admitted that viewers will also get to see a softer side to Christina who she says is super proud of Daisy for achieving everything mostly on her own.

The actress said: “I think it’s so long since she’s seen her. She’s working behind that bar, and she’s got her life so together and she’s so overcome with pride because she’s everything that Christina probably used to be – but not anymore. She thinks, ‘wow, there’s my girl doing everything I wanted to do’.”
