Coronation Street’s Leanne Battersby to be forced to make a ‘deal with the devil’ to save son Simon

CORONATION Street’s Leanne Battersby is going to be thrust into a devastating new storyline where she will be forced to save her son Simon Barlow.

The grieving mum – who is played by actress Jane Danson in the ITV soap – has only just lost her younger son Oliver to mitochondrial disease.

Oliver lost his battle for life earlier this month in devastating scenes.

But Leanne will be soon plunged into another emotional crisis with her eldest son Simon.

The Celeb Report can exclusively reveal how he is going to find himself in hot water – forcing Leanne to make a deal with the devil to save him.

Corrie’s executive producer Iain Macleod exclusively told The Celeb Report: “We’ve got a hugely exciting thriller-ish story that will emerge out of Leanne’s grief.

“As we know, she’s been experiencing a heartbreaking time around her son Oliver and off the back of that, her other son Simon finds himself in a certain amount of trouble and it forces Leanne to do a deal with the devil to try to save Simon.

“Which leads to incredibly dangerous but exciting territory.”

Viewers have watched as Leanne has fled Weatherfield to France to see her mum and sister after being overwhelmed with her grief over Oliver.

However she will return in time for Christmas where she will be left quietly devastated when her sister Toyah is given a baby to foster for the festive season.
